If you think that Microsoft technologies are only for Windows that means you are living in the past. Microsoft is trying more and more to integrate their solutions with other OS besides Windows,

Here are two short videos demonstrating monitoring Linux systems with SCOM and running Linux systems on top of Hyper-V. This integrations is demonstrated with SCOM 2012 and Windows Server 8 beta Hyper-v but the integrations is available in the previous versions of the products too,

    I will reveal you a little secret: Hyper-V integration services will be included in Linux Kernel 2.4 and will not need separate installation.
