Windows Server 8 is officially named Windows Server 2012

Microsoft just announced on MMS 2012 that the next release of windows server will be named Windows Server 2012.

Monitoring Windows Server 8 Beta with SCOM 2012

If you are curious like me,  always want to try the latest technologies and have lab environment you probably tried to monitor Windows Server 8 with SCOM 2012. I was lucky and right after I’ve installed the SCOM agent on Windows Server 8 it became healthy. But Cameron Fuller (one of the greatest SCOM experts) didn’t had this luck and stumbled upon some issues. Of course these couldn’t stop Cameron and he found workaround. Backup is going to the cloud also

Windows 8 have this feature to backup the server to the cloud. Until today there was not so much information about that except that the data will be backed up to Azure storage. Thanks to Technet blogs we now have more information on the matter. I think the most interesting feature is that third party companies can develop their own Online Backup solution by using API.
