The Dell Server Management Pack Suite enables System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2007 R2, System Center 2012 Operations Manager, and System Center Essentials (SCE) 2010 to Discover, Monitor and accurately depict the status of Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault Servers, Dell Remote Access Controllers (DRAC) and Chassis Management Controllers (CMC) on a defined network segment. Microsoft release an clarification on Windows Server 2012 monitoring with SCOM 2007 R2. What Microsoft is saying in order to monitor Windows Server 2012 you have to install SCOM 2012 agent on such servers and as these agents can report back to SCOM 2007 R2 server we can actually monitor Server 2012 with such scenario. The only thing that is left to be clarified is if the Windows Server 2012 Management packs will be supported in SCOM 2007 R2 server. Full announcement is here.

Update:

Microsoft released 3 new management packs and one updated one:

  • System Center Monitoring Pack for Windows Server Operating System – Supported on SCOM 2007 R2 and SCOM 2012

System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 SP1 Beta – Configuration Manager

if you have implemented System Center 2012 SP1 Beta in your lab environment now you can monitor SCCM 2012 SP1 beta with SCOM. Just download the beta MP from here.

System Center 2012 Monitoring Pack for SharePoint 2010

What I should mention first about this new MP is that it is not standalone functional MP. It is actually supplemental MP for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager 2007. So you have to import the old MP for SharePoint first and than import the new one. What actually the new MP does is to add task that will configure SharePoint 2010 monitoring on SCOM 2012. You can all steps in the 4 pages manual that comes with the MP. The manual and the management pack can be found here.
