More MVA videos for System Center 2012 SP1

Every day more and more videos emerge on TechNet from MVA about System Center 2012 SP1. So we are eagerly waiting the new courses that will be provided on Microsoft Virtual Academy. I’ve been able to distinguish 6 different topics which are divided in part but still have no idea how courses will be arranged when they appear on MVA site.

Microsoft Virtual Academy published 6 videos on freshly released System Center 2012 SP1. The videos are only for 5 of all System Center components and so far the courses are not available on MVA. After the release of System Center 2012 SP1 on Technet and MSDN before Christmas which is kind of unofficial release it is time for the official one. There is a rumor that tomorrow (04.01.2013) Microsoft will officially announce Service Pack 1 for System Center 2012. As a hint for this official announcement is that several additional components for SC 2012 SP1 were updated from Beta to RTM today. Here you can find them:

Note: Some of the components may still have BETA word in their names but if you see the change log on the webpage you will see that final version was uploaded.

IBM Inventory Tool for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, v1.0

IBM has released a new tool to integrate with System Center 2012 component. IBM Inventory Tool for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Version 1.0 allows SCCM to collect IBM specific hardware inventory of IBM system x or x86 Blade servers, so administrators can view these IBM specific hardware inventory information in SCCM environment. Such tool exists for HP hardware for a long time so IBM is trying to advance in the rivalry.

Key features include:

  • Support of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007/2012
  • Automatically create IBM Inventory Tool Client as SCCM software distribution package
  • Automatically add IBM Inventory Classes to SCCM server
  • Support Multilanguage: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese

System Center 2012 SP1 RTM is available for download on MSDN

The long waited Service Pack 1 of System Center 2012 has reached RTM and it is now available for download on MSDN. It seems the rumors were true. This is a Christmas gift from Microsoft Smile.
