System Center 2012 R2 VHDs Download

Besides downloading ISO files you can also try System Center 2012 R2 by directly downloading VHDs that offer installed Windows Server 2012 R2 and instructions on how to enable System Center 2012 R2. Here is the full download list:

Announcement: Microsoft Anti-Malware Platform Update

System Center Configuration Team is announcing that the antimalware platform of Microsoft will be updated on 9th of April. The mentioned product are FEP 2010 and SCEP 2012 SP1. The improvements that these updates will bring are:

  • Adds new malware remediation functionality to the anti-malware platform.
  • Adds anti-tampering improvements to the anti-malware platform.
  • Improves overall performance of the anti-malware platform.

The updates will be available trough Windows Update.

I am wondering if Windows Defender in Windows 8 will also be updated and what about SCEP 2012 without SP1.

You may need to re-download Configuration Manager 2012 and Endpoint Protection 2012 SP1 Binaries!

During the compilation of the bits of SCSM 2012 SP1 binaries some minor issues were made which can can certain issues in SCCM 2012 SP1 client. Microsoft recommends to re-download (from MSDN, VL and etc.) the new fixed binaries again. More on the topic here.
