Operations Management Suite – Performance Monitoring

OMS today released a new feature Performance monitoring. Not sure if that is the official name but basically allows you to gather performance data from servers by adding performance counters.

The feature is located under Logs as it represents different king of log gathering. Keep in mind that this performance data gathering feature is different than the Capacity solution. KB: Feature and performance optimization of Hyper-V Replica (HVR) in Windows Server 2012

Microsoft published a very useful article on how we can fine-tune Hyper-V Replica if we face performance problems. I suggest if to try changing these registry keys only if you face some performance problems. If everything is working smoothly better not touch them. The article is located here.

PerformanceMonitor Sample Widget for System Center 2012 Operations Manager

This widget for SCOM 2012 developed by Microsoft employee Brian Wren can be very helpful in various cases. For example when you troubleshoot performance issues you can compare two or more computers in four different performance metrics.
