Announcement: Microsoft Anti-Malware Platform Update

System Center Configuration Team is announcing that the antimalware platform of Microsoft will be updated on 9th of April. The mentioned product are FEP 2010 and SCEP 2012 SP1. The improvements that these updates will bring are:

  • Adds new malware remediation functionality to the anti-malware platform.
  • Adds anti-tampering improvements to the anti-malware platform.
  • Improves overall performance of the anti-malware platform.

The updates will be available trough Windows Update.

I am wondering if Windows Defender in Windows 8 will also be updated and what about SCEP 2012 without SP1.

New version: System Center Security Monitoring Pack for Endpoint Protection

Another MP is updated this week. It is busy week for System Center specialists Smile. System Center Security Monitoring Pack for Endpoint Protection provides monitoring for FEP 2010 and System Center Endpoint Protection 2012. There is no MP guide so it is unknown what are the actual changes. Here is what is stated on the download page:

1/8/2013 – Update release, version 2.1.1116.0111, available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Spanish
