These software/company battles bring improvements on both sides.
The competition between these software giants also provide IT with resources needed to be able to assess the best technology. I think that free training on your product is a great approach. The IT world is growing so fast, that often times you cannot justify the expense of training. With free training, it is easy take the course online and then present the benefits to management or the customer. Microsoft has began what I think is one of their best marketing strategies ever.
